Our Favorite Spots in Ellijay

Tucked into the North Georgia mountains, Ellijay has become one of our go-to getaways — and over time, a handful of places have earned a permanent spot on our itinerary. Here's what we love every time we visit.

Ellijay Wood Fired Pizza

This one is non-negotiable. Every single trip to Ellijay includes a stop at Ellijay Wood Fired Pizza. There's something about a proper wood-fired crust — that smoky char, the blistered edges — that makes it worth the visit on its own. It's become such a ritual that it almost feels like the trip doesn't officially start until we've had a slice.

The Roof

On a gorgeous clear day, The Roof is the perfect spot to unwind. The mountain views from up there are wonderful, and the food and drinks are terrific. Don’t sleep on the fried green tomatoes!

Roo Mountain Vineyards

For an afternoon of slowing down, Roo Mountain Vineyards is hard to beat. The setting is genuinely beautiful — rolling vines against the backdrop of the mountains make it feel like a world away from everyday life, even though it's just a short drive from town. It's the kind of place where you end up staying far longer than you planned.

The Falls at Blue Ridge

When we're in the mood to dress up a little and enjoy an upscale dinner, The Falls at Blue Ridge is our pick. Not only is it about 5 minutes from the cabin, it's the kind of restaurant that makes an evening feel like an occasion. It’s in a secluded forest location featuring beautiful waterfalls, and offers elevated food, a polished atmosphere, and a nice change of pace after a day of exploring.

The Door

For something more playful, The Door is a fun speakeasy-style spot that adds a bit of mystery and energy to a night out. Hidden entrances and a lively atmosphere make it a great stop when we want the evening to feel a little different. Located right below The Roof. The secret password is: I’m here to see a man about a horse.
